Thoughts on Lost Season Premiere LA-X

I was able to see a stream from the beach last night for the Season 6 premiere...and since Im a 'sucker' for spoilers, you know I HAD to watch!

Anyway, thanks to the internet (once again) I am able to watch my favorite shows....before they air on network television. I was able to watch the premiere with 3800 people who werent able to get to Hawaii :)

And because I have to put my thoughts SOMEWHERE....I have to say, if you do NOT want to be spoiled...do not read further! BIG SPOILER ALERT!!

Im not going to put EVERYTHING that was in the episode, but I will be disecting what I havent been able to put out of my head. What confused me is that it appears we have two timelines occurring.

TIMELINE ONE
The episode opens with Jack on Oceanic 815. Jack receives a bottle of liquor from the flight attendant (her name escapes me right now) but in this instance, he only receives one instead of two) He speaks with Rose and when the plane seems like its gonna crash, Rose tells him he can let go now. The flight doesnt crash and we see Bernard return to his seat. Jack speaks to Desmond (who wasnt originally on the flight).

We see Dr Artz speaking with Hurley - which reminded me about the episode where he gets blown up (all over Hurley). Sawyer overhears Hurley and Dr Artz discussing his lottery winnings (which makes me think hes gonna run a con on him)

We find out the reason why Charlie didnt run thru the aisle when Jack and Rose are talking....he is choking on a baggie of heroin. Jack saves his life. When they 'arrest' him, Charlie tells him that he was SUPPOSED to die. (how true is that one?)

Boone is back! Shannon isnt with him....Locke and Boone talk about the Walkabout (I had to holler LIAR to Locke).


We also pick up the beach people (Lapidus and Sun are amongst them). We see Locke is dead. We also see what happens in the foot statue once Jacob is dead and Ben returns with Bram....I will only say this: I LOVE not-Lockes quote to Ben..."Im Sorry you had to see me like this" which yay me, because I was partly right about that smoke monster business!


TIMELINE 2

Granted, both timelines are shown in a more confusing way, but I wanted to get that much out before I got into the bizarre second timeline.

We see Kate hanging from a tree...We also see Jack, Sawyer, Jinn, Hurley and Sayid (whos been bleeding from the gunshot wound). Sawyer is really angry at Jack because it didnt work! They are still there!

Hurley gets a visit from Jacob who tells him he can bring Sayid back and instructs him what to do....he says Jinn will know.

Kate vaguely hears a noise...Its Juliet from that really long tunnel into the ground. After pulling off the stuff piled up, Sawyer goes down to get her. She dies in his arms.

You can tell that Sawyer is extremely mad at Jack. If looks could kill.....

The episode ends with Oceanic 815 landing and the passengers getting off the plane....and yep, Locke is still in the wheelchair.

Capitalism-A Love Story

It is almost fitting that I watched this after blogging on "crony capitalism"....heres a link to that blog, in case you missed it:

I intentionally waited to see Michael Moores movie "Capitalism-A Love Story" because of all the 'hype' surrounding it. I mean, when this documentary first came out conservatives wanted his head on a platter (probably still do) and liberals applauded his effort. At that time, there was NO way anyone could have watched it with an open mind. So this afternoon, I watched it...a little over a year after its release.

I can honestly say that this was not at all what I expected. Granted, Michael Moore may be confused about exactly what Capitalism is. What he describes in his film is mainly the "crony capitalism" that John Stossell addessed on his show.

There are varying degrees of truths and untruths in this film, but most of that has to deal with Moores apparent disdain for conservatives (Republicans). He does not come out and say it directly, but it is referred to.

One of my issues with capitalism is the corruption and greed. Moore is correct on this issue. The rich just cant get enough money.....and it seems as if they worship the very Federal Reserve that prints it. However, Im not going to become an activist for the socialist movement either.

I was raised to beleive that if you work hard and make good choices with your finances, you can and will acheive what you strive for. If you choose to be lazy and take handouts, you will always remain poor. My hard work and the money I earn should not go to someone who wont pull their own weight.

Moore interviews 2 priests in his documentary. They both state that capitalism is a sin and it is evil...but doesnt the Bible also state that we have to be fiscally responsible? Doesnt it state not to be in debt? Why yes, it does.

It is almost comical that Moore choose to record African-Americans on the evening that Barack Obama won the Presidential Election. Granted, it is an historical win....but does anyone remember the national news showing an African-American woman stating that, and I quote, "Praise God...now I dont have to pay my mortgage"

Feel entitled to something your not working for much?

So I say to you....and I ask you honestly.....What exactly happens when you dont pay your mortgage? Everything Ive seen tells me that you get evicted, as many are shown to have been.

Im sorry, but as broken as our economic system appears to be...Capitalism seems our best bet for the most important belief of all....FREEDOM

It isnt WHAT you know, its WHO you know

I finally got around to seeing John Stossels show from January 14, 2009, and Im glad I watched.

Ive been saying for years, that its not WHAT you know, it is WHO you know...and you know....I was right. Im not exactly proud of this fact, but more and more we are seeing how things work in our world. It doesnt matter if you are looking for a job or working within the confines of our government...it is WHO you know.

John Stossels show took a look at something thats called "crony capitalism" which is basically using lobbyists to further your companies agenda. He takes a look at several different industries to explain this in detail.

In a nutshell, special interest groups/lobbyists manipulate regulations and help create laws which exclude new and smaller companies, which in turn, helps the bigger more established ones. This also creates a bigger and more powerful government. New laws are created that do not foster competition, they foster the connections these companies have with government....and then, those companies hide behind these rules.

Now, before anyone slams me for being one-sided...both sides of the aisle do this. Every administration has been a part of this problem. And after watching the show, Im sure you will see EXACTLY what needs to stop!

Monsanto corn linked to organ failure

Two things to look at today....First I have attached a link that is accessible from the blog title. This link will take you to the Huffington Post, which is a liberal leaning blog. The second is the video that is embedded below.

I wanted to give the link to the Huff Post because many people beleive that I do not get my information from "both sides of the aisle" so to speak. These same people beleive that its all conspiracy theory to me....which its not.

If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I am against genetically modified foods....for MANY various reasons. Monsanto tends to be a bully, which doesnt help them in my eyes.

Anyways, one of the most prestigious organizations has found that Monsantos GMO corn (3 varieties) contain poison and can lead to organ failure....namely concentrated to the kidneys and liver. This is huge news especially since Monsanto has the means to hush any reports of this type. It looks at if Monsanto is attempting to redirect the focus away from what has been proven, stating that it is due to faulty research methods. Seriously Monsanto....get a grip and stop killing us slowly!

If you grow a plant that also contains insecticides, what did you think would happen? Roundup ready? Puhleeze!
